Understanding ONDA

NOWMEDI lists ONDA for facial skin laxity, jawline concerns, and selected body-contouring goals. The doctor should assess the treatment area, tissue thickness, and whether this approach fits the change you want.

How ONDA differs from a laser

ONDA is a microwave-based platform. DEKA describes different handpieces for different tissue targets and areas. During your consultation, discuss the handpiece, intended goal, and available treatment options with us so you understand the plan beyond the device name.

At consultation, separate a concern about loose skin from one about localized fullness. A slimmer contour and firmer skin are not the same outcome. Ask the physician to show you which problem they are addressing and why the proposed approach fits that area.

Who should discuss this option—and when to pause

Consider discussing ONDA when your main concern is a specific area of skin laxity or contour rather than a general desire to lose weight. Ask whether there is enough tissue in the proposed area, whether reducing fullness could conflict with your desired appearance, and whether another approach or no procedure would be more appropriate.

Bring up implanted devices, previous procedures in the area, changes in sensation, skin problems, pregnancy, and other medical conditions. This is a consultation checklist, not a complete list of contraindications; the clinician must check the actual device instructions and your history.

What to discuss at consultation

Which areas are suitable for my anatomy? How will energy and comfort be monitored?

  • Your goals, prior procedures, medications, allergies, and relevant health conditions.
  • Expected benefit, limitations, alternatives, and whether no treatment is the better choice.
  • The clinician performing treatment, the exact device or product, and the full written price.

A closer look at the appointment

Ask for an assessment and marking of the precise treatment area before treatment begins. Confirm the model, handpiece, energy plan, comfort measures, and who performs the procedure. Ask how you should communicate heat or discomfort during the session and what the operator will do if you need a pause.

Before leaving, request an explanation of expected skin changes and when a change needs a review. If both face and body treatments are proposed, request separate goals, prices, and follow-up instructions for each area.

Recovery & planning your trip

Discuss facial and body goals separately. Ask how many visits may be appropriate and what changes are realistic during your stay.

Recovery varies with the treatment, settings, area, and individual response. Confirm your review appointment and return-flight timing with the treating physician. Ask for written aftercare instructions and a contact plan before leaving Jeju.

Results, timing, and realistic expectations

A treatment budget expressed in joules is not a prediction of your result. Ask why that amount is proposed for your anatomy rather than choosing the largest package. Agree on a useful time to review photographs and whether additional sessions would be assessed after that review.

“Minimal downtime” in a marketing description does not mean no side effects or no need for follow-up. Leave room in your itinerary for assessment if swelling, pain, or skin changes concern you.

AN INFORMED DECISION

Risks & considerations

Ask about discomfort, redness, swelling, burns, and unwanted contour changes. Your doctor should explain device-specific risks and contraindications before treatment.

No aesthetic treatment is risk-free. These questions and examples are not a complete contraindication or risk list. Your clinician must explain the details of your proposed treatment.

Cost & what is included

Request a current VAT-inclusive quote. Confirm the treatment area, product or device, quantity or settings, anesthesia if needed, review visits, and any extra charges. No fixed package price is presented here because a current confirmed quote is needed.

Compare the approach, not just the name

These are discussion points, not a recommendation or a claim that every alternative is available at NOWMEDI.

Option or concernWhat to discuss
ONDAMicrowave-based treatment; discuss the intended tissue target and contour goal.
Ultherapy PRIMEUltrasound-based treatment; ask whether skin laxity rather than fullness is the main concern.
Volume-focused treatmentIf the area is already hollow, ask whether contour reduction would work against your goal.

Common questions

Can I choose this treatment before I arrive?+

You can ask about it in advance, but a final recommendation depends on clinical assessment. Availability does not establish that a treatment is right for you.

Will the treatment be the same as in the U.S.?+

Not necessarily. Products, permitted uses, and clinical practice can differ by country. Ask your physician about the exact product, its intended use, and its authorization in Korea and the United States.

Can I combine it with another procedure?+

Ask the treating doctor about sequencing, cumulative risks, and recovery. Do not assume combining procedures is appropriate for a short visit.

More questions about this treatment

Is more energy always better?

No result can be predicted from an energy total alone. Area, device configuration, clinical judgment, and your tissue characteristics matter. Ask why the proposed settings are appropriate.

Does NOWMEDI have ONDA PRO?

Please contact us to confirm the ONDA model and handpieces available for your proposed treatment.

Can ONDA replace weight management?

Do not book it as a substitute for a medical weight-management plan. Explain whether your goal is body weight, localized contour, or skin firmness so the clinician can address the right concern.
