Share your health history

Tell the doctor about medications, supplements, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, medical conditions, skin reactions, and previous procedures. Ask whether anything changes your suitability. Do not stop prescribed medicines without your clinician’s advice.

Know your options

Ask what the treatment may achieve, what it cannot achieve, and which alternatives are reasonable. Your plan should explain who performs the procedure, the products or devices used, and potential complications.

Know what to expect—and who to call.

Leave with written instructions

Ask about cleansing, skin products, sun protection, activity, and any prescribed medications. Confirm expected changes and which symptoms require a prompt review.

Arrange your follow-up

Confirm when you should be seen again and who to contact while in Jeju and after returning home. Ask for treatment records to share with your U.S. healthcare professional if needed.

Urgent symptoms

For trouble breathing, vision changes, or other severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, seek emergency medical care immediately rather than waiting for an online reply. Unexpected severe pain or skin color changes after filler also need urgent assessment.

Understand differences between countries

Product availability and permitted uses can differ between Korea and the United States. Please discuss the exact product, intended use, and local authorization with your physician before treatment.

A meaningful consent discussion relates the risks to the exact procedure, area, product, and your health history. Ask which effects are common, which are serious but less frequent, and what can be done if a problem develops. Ask what the treatment cannot achieve and what alternatives include doing nothing.

Bring up previous complications even if they occurred at another clinic. Share uncertain treatment history honestly. If you have had a product injected but do not know its name, say so; a lack of records is itself useful information for the clinician.

Online contact has limits.

Messages and photographs may help the clinic understand a concern, but they cannot always replace an examination. Ask in advance when you would need to be seen and how additional care would be arranged. Do not interpret the existence of an email contact as a 24-hour emergency service.

For severe symptoms, use local emergency medical care rather than waiting for an online reply. For non-emergency concerns, record the timing and nature of the change and follow the clinician’s agreed contact instructions. Do not improvise treatment or take medication based on a general website guide.

If you do not understand the explanation, ask for more time or language support. If the recommended procedure changes, ask for the new risks, costs, and recovery plan before consenting. Your travel arrangements do not make an elective procedure obligatory.

A plan that leaves no time for needed review, relies on a product whose identity is unclear, or cannot explain complication care deserves clarification before treatment. The goal is a decision you understand, with realistic expectations and a practical follow-up plan.
